The portal is now updated with results from Studiebarometeret for tertiary vocational education students 2024

Download data

Here you can access data from the two surveys.

Data set for the university and university colleges student survey

Data is available for each individual study programme. The dataset contains:

  • The same data shown in the web portal; primarily average figures for each study programme
  • Data from last year
  • The response scale, with few exceptions, ranges from 1-5, with 5 as the best score

Programme data Studiebarometeret 2023

The data has study programmes as an observation unit. Only last year's data is available. Study programmes with few respondents last year have been merged with data for the previous year, this is indicated by the value ‘1’ in the variable ‘aggregerte_data’. The value ‘1’ in the variable ‘terskel’ indicates that there are enough respondents for a programme (either in one year or by merging the two last years) for us to show data in the portal and in the spreadsheet.

  • The same data shown in the online portal; primarily average figures for each programme
  • Last year's data
  • The response scale is, with few exceptions, from 1-5, with 5 as the best score

Study programmes with few respondents are shown in the excel sheet, but without response data. Click the link below to download:

Important and useful information

Use of Excel

The data format for export is the open format ‘csv’, which Excel interprets. The following can be done to customise column widths: press CTRL + A twice, double-click between columns A and B, for example. The width is then customised on all cells.

Publishing data

Users are obliged to refer to producer and distributor of the data by writing the following in forewords or footnotes in eventual publications:
“(Some of) the data applied in the analysis in this publication are based on "NOKUT National Student Survey". The survey was financed by KD. The data are provided by NOKUT, and prepared and made available by the NSD – Norwegian Centre for Research Data. Neither NOKUT, KD nor NSD are responsible for the analyses/interpretation of the data presented here.”

Please note that there are systematic differences between study programmes in different subject areas, and a comparison should therefore preferably be made of similar, or relatively similar, study programmes.

The fewer respondents a study programme has, the less robust the data is.

Furthermore, we would like to emphasise that students' perceptions of the quality of education are one source of information and should therefore not be seen as the whole truth. Other perspectives, such as the views of teachers and register data are also important in assessing educational quality.
